Are you looking for that perfect cheesy romance animes with a happy ending? We have got you covered with this list which includes the best anime series packed with romance with happy endings.
Standing tall at the top of our list is Lovely Complex, and as the name points out, it follows the complicated love story of a pair of high
schoolers, Risa Koizumi and Atsushi Otani. The pair seems ordinary enough until you compare their heights – Koizumi towers at five feet eight inches, and Otani is a midget five foot one inch. So when super tall Ryoji Suzuki shows up in her class, Koizumi falls head over heels for him because for once there was a guy who was taller than her.
On the other end, Otani falls for the shy little Chiharu Tanaka. Koizumi and Otani team up to help each other get their crushes, but their plans miserably fail when Suzuki and Tanaka end up dating each other. However, this teamwork gets Koizumi to catch feelings for Otani. This anime is a great watch and has a wonderful mix of love, confusion, and general amounts of bickers and banters to keep you hooked to the very end.
Ryuuji Takasu is a sweet high school student who enjoys doing housework, but his intimidating appearance sometimes leads to him being classified as a delinquent. Taiga Aisaka, on the other hand, is a petite, doll-like student who is anything but cute and fragile. Taiga, who wields a wooden katana and has a fiery personality, is known as the “Palmtop Tiger” at school.
The story gets interesting as the duo decides to ally once they realize that they have a crush on each other’s best friends. Every character has a backstory for their behavior in this unpredictable love story. Toradora! will take you on the most unusual journey of love with twists and turns, gracefully revealing the depth of well-crafted characters

As the characters grow closer, Rikka realized that her emotions are not of respect but of genuine love. The feelings become mutual as Yuuta learns more of Rikka’s tragic past and sees her endearing and benevolent sides.
Kimi no Na Wa.
This film is in no way short of cutesy heartwarming scenes with a soundtrack that will play on your heartstrings. Mitsuha Miyamizu, a high school student, wishes to live in the bustling city of Tokyo as a boy, a fantasy that contrasts sharply with her current life in the countryside. Taki Tachibana, meanwhile, is a busy high school student juggling his part-time work with ambitions for a future in architecture in the metropolis.
While you wait for these two characters to meet, the story will leave you baffled when they switch bodies out of the blue. The movie follows them on their journey as they get to know each other. Though the movie may have its tear-jerking moments, this romance movie ends on a beautiful happy note.
Zero no Tsukaima
The series tells the story of a seemingly ordinary boy whisked away to a world of magic and no we’re not talking about harry potter from contemporary Japan. Saito Hiraga is summoned into the magical kingdom of Halkeginia. As a familiar to the borderline sadistic mage, Louise Françoise adds insult to his injury. She makes him wash her clothes, sleep on a bed of hay, and whips him if he upsets her. Despite being a self-obsessed member of the nobility, Louise is hopeless at magic earning the nickname “Louise the Zero”. Surprisingly as Saito and Louis’ friendship grows, they fall in love with each other.
But this is not just another tale of submission and love. The story soon expands to encompass a gripping tale of politics and a romantic comedy, making it an interesting watch.
Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama!
The encounters leading to love unfold taking a whole new twist in Maid-Sama when Takami Usui finds out that Ayuzawa works as a part-time maid. Having a part-time job is not bad but it is disastrous for the team and president aptly nicknamed by the boys in her school for her strict disciplinary style.
Ayuzawa is threatened by blackmail when the popular boy in school Takami Usui discovers her submissive maid persona. Usui is immediately smitten with Ayuzawa and uses his droll personality to push her buttons while bringing her closer to him. As the story goes, Misaki is revealed to be not quite the man-hating tyrant and Usui is not the cold unfeeling ladies’ man either. Although the relationship development is a bit slow, the series ends with a touching conclusion.
Hachiman Hikigaya is a narcissistic and semi-nihilistic high school student with apathetic inclinations. He is certain that happy youth is a hoax, and that anyone who claims differently is only lying to themselves.
Hachiman’s teacher forces him to join the Volunteer Service Club as a new punishment for producing an article ridiculing modern social connections. The Volunteer Service Club aspires to lend a helping hand to any student seeking assistance in reaching their goals. With the beautiful ice queen Yukino Yukinoshita as the only other club member, Hachiman finds himself on the front lines of other people’s problems—a place he never imagined he would be at.
Eventually, the two hard-boiled characters learn to open up to each other and admit their feelings but only after trials of confusion and misunderstandings. Do not be disheartened by the focus on the bitter truth of the youthful romance of the show. At its core, it is actually funny with plentiful dashes of sarcastic humor guaranteed to keep you wanting more.
Hajimete No Gal
